Seasonal Sales Consultants

Work Location:  Maidstone Head Office (Turkey Mill) - Kent
Dates:  October 2019 to end March 2020
UK Fixed Term Seasonal Contract

Benefits:

  • 14,000 to 17.000 per annum basic salary

Do you want to talk about skiing and snowboarding all day every day?  If you can't get out to the Alps for the season, then the second best thing is to think and talk skiing and to have the power to create amazing holidays for others!  No sales experience is necessary as we provide full training - but you need to have a confident, chatty personality and know your snow stuff!    

Job Details

The job of a Sales Consultant  involves dealing with all the guest requirements before their holiday - from answering their original enquiry and talking them through our chalets and the best options for their group, to booking their travel arrangements, ski passes, equipment rental and ski schools.  Every guest has his/her own set of preferences and requirements and your job is to create a holiday, personal to them, in an efficient and friendly way.

The ideal candidate will love the snow and be passionate about skiing or snowboarding - you must know what you are talking about to be able to carry out this role.  You will have an excellent telephone manner and writing skills, a bubbly personality, be confident and believe in the excellence of customer service.

The successful candidates will be hungry sales people, determined and driven to reach sales targets - you will recognise opportunities and go the extra mile to persuade the client to book their holiday with us, but without being pushy, aggressive or over selling - you will be a person who understands the line between annoyingly pushy sales and providing just the right level of contact and you will be honest and informative in how you approach the task.  You will be efficient at administration - competent and able to work in a fast moving environment with excellent keyboard speeds and PC skills.

The positions are based on a seasonal fixed term contract from October to the end of March and you will report to the Managing Director as part of our small team.  Our offices are located on the prestigious Turkey Mill Business Park which has it's own childcare/nursery, bistro, private dentist, event and wedding venue and beautiful gardens for breaks.  It is easily accessed by road from the motorway and also by public transport (bus and trains).  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responding to holiday enquiries
  • Proactively following up with clients and dealing with their questions
  • Making reservations and selling ancillary services and resort extras
  • Preparing confirmation documents
  • Dealing with reservation administration
  • Maintaining the integrity of our systems and updating property information
  • Maintaining and actively chasing options
  • Dealing with suppliers and agents
  • Administrative tasks to support the team

Skills and Experience Required

  • Excellent telephone manner and confident personality
  • Good written and verbal communications skills with an understanding of the proper use of English grammar, spelling and punctuation - able to create professional, persuasive and informative enquiry responses to our guests
  • Experienced skier or snowboarder able to understand what a client needs on a ski holiday and advise on solutions
  • Understanding of the importance of excellent customer service and providing what the customer wants in an efficient manner
  • Preferably some sales experience either telephone or direct sales, but if you have a bubbly personality, we can teach you the rest

Eligibility

All applicants MUST be resident and working in the UK with an existing permanent NI number and tax record.  You must be available for a face-to-face interview at our head office in Maidstone, Kent and be available for the full duration of the contract.
