Meribel

Meribel - the lively centre of the Three Valleys

A lively, chalet style village spread across the mountain with good access to the whole of the Three Valleys - the largest ski area in the world

Meribel consists of the central area and a number of satellite villages linked with the lift system.  It is built in traditional chalet-style and boasts both good nightlife and good skiing.  It is a very "English" resort, having been founded by a British developer in 1938 and has grown enormously in popularity in recent years.  It is a resort where very few of the chalets or apartments are on the pistes or near the lift system which is centre on "La Chaudanne" - but a free shuttle bus runs regularly to carry visitors around.

The slopes are good for all levels of skiers - from experts to beginners with a host of English speaking ski schools to initiate you to the art or improve your skills.  The lift system is highly efficient linking in one direction to the Courchevel Valley and in the other towards Val Thorens via St Martin de Belleville and Les Menuires.

For non-skiing activity, and to quote the Where to Ski and Snowboard Guide 2004 - "Meribel rocks .... loudly".  There are a number of British run establishments to choose from including the famous Dicks Tea Bar, just a stone's throw from our new chalet.  The indoor Olympic Parc offers an ice-rink, swimming pool and climbing wall and there are a host of other activities both inside and outside to choose from.
