La Rosiere

Cross border skiing at snow-sure altitude .... La Rosiere gives the possibility of skiing in France and in Italy in an altitude resort (village at 1850m) which is still affordable.

La Rosiere is a developing resort with recent investment to improve the exterior outlook of the town with newly built and renovated buildings side by side.  It is located on the Petit St Bernard pass which is one of the main summer routes between France and Italy and is linked to the Italian resort of La Thuile.  The resort offers the possibility of "heli-skiing" - banned in France, keen heli-skiers can drop in Italy and ski back into the French resort.

Getting There

By Car : La Rosiere can be easily accessed by road and is approximately 650 miles (1000 kms) from Calais - all but the last 40 kms is by motorway or expresss dual carriageway.  We provide comprehensive directions to our self drive guests and also offer ferry crossing and Eurotunnel at attractive supplements to your holiday.

By Air : The nearest airports are Geneva or Chambery, both of which are served by a number of UK budget airlines including EasyJet, FlyBe and Jet2.  You can also fly to Lyon (St Exupery) or Grenoble.  Transfer times are:

Geneva - approx 3 hours

Chambery - approx 2 hours

Lyon - approx 3.5 hours

Grenoble - approx 4 hours

By Rail :  The international railway station of Bourg St Maurice is approximately 30 minutes from the resort - the station is served by the Snowtrain service and the Direct Eurostar Services from the UK.  We can provide rail tickets on any of these services and transfers from the station to the resort can be arranged.
