Resort Information - Peisey Vallandry

a

Peisey-Vallandry is a collection of villages which fall within the resort of Les Arcs and Paradiski but have a very different atmosphere than their next-door cousin!  Plan-Peisey and Vallandry are the main places to stay and are both at 1600m making them a good height for reliable snow conditions.  The village is mainly traditonal chalet-style buildings and has an alpine ambience about it.

The "Vanoise Express" lift linking Les Arcs to La Plagne lands at Plan-Peisey making it a great place to stay if you are planning to explore both resorts - our new catered chalet "Chalet Sermoz" is located right on this link.  Vallandry is a great village resort a few hundred metres from Plan-Peisey with some wonderful returning home runs through the trees great for intermedidates .... blast down the Ourse or the Aigle and practice your carving turns on a wide, blue slope.  Below Plan-Peisey and Vallandry you'll find the old village of Peisey itself which is linked to Plan-Peisey by a slow bucket lift.

For skiers and boarders alike, the resort offers a good choice of runs with most areas being served by both easy and difficult pistes making it a good choice for mixed ability groups.  There are some good beginner areas but also some challenging black runs from the top of the Aiguile Rouge including a run to Villaroger which has a vertical drop of 2000m. The link to La Plagne adds another dimension to create a ski domain to challenge the famous Three Valleys.  Close to our new chalet is the high-speed 6 man chairlift which takes you up to above Arcs 1800 and directly to a beginners area as well as blue, red and black pistes coming back down to Plan Peisey.

The resort offers a number of good restaurants and a choice of bars but does not benefit from a sports club or other apres ski facilities.  It's not a resort to choose if you're looking for lively apres-ski and partying but a great place to go for mixed ability groups with some good accommodation and plenty of quieter bars to choose from.
