Ski School - Tignes 2011-2012

ESF Tignes

The ESF ski school has meeting points throughout the resort in Val Claret, Le Lac and Le Lavachet.  All instructors are English speaking.  It is important for all lessons that you assess your ability correctly:

Children: (4-13yrs) Ski or, Snowboard (from 8 years)

Ourson:                  First time on skis (4 to 6yrs)

Flocon:                  First time on skis (6 to 12yrs)

1^st Star:                 Snowplough on very gentle slopes

2^nd Star:                 Start to parallel turn on blue slopes

3^rd Star:                 Parallel turns on red slopes

Bronze star:           Parallel turns on most slopes

Gold Star:              Speed Control on Black Slope

Competition:         Slalom

Adults (14yrs+) Ski or Snowboard

Beginner:               Never skied before

Class 1:                  Snowplough turns on blue slopes

Class 2:                  First parallel turns on blue and red slopes

Class 3:                  Parallel turns on red and black slopes

Grand Ski:              Off-Piste

Adult skiing and snowboarding, Children skiing (4-13 years old), And Children Snowboarding (8-13 years old)

Skiing: off piste 18+ (Max 8 per group) – Grand Ski

Mini Piou Piou - Skiing for 3 year olds (6 per group)

Le Club des Piou-Piou is a specially designed ski club for the very young skier with a combined skiing and playing concept. Skiing sessions are mixed with play sessions according to the weather conditions and the tiredness of the children giving the young ones an opportunity to “try it out” in a low pressure environment.
