In Meribel, we work with the English ski school Magic in Motion.  It is highly recommended to book as early as possible as lessons have limited spaces

Magic in Motion

Because of the small class sizes and their excellent reputation, Magic in Motion Ski Academy become fully booked very quickly and we recommend booking your place as early as possible particularly for peak school holiday weeks. Their highly qualified ski and snowboard instructors coach a range of lessons to suit all tastes and abilities, including group lessons, off piste, children, and snowboard, including freestyle.

Adult Groups

Ski lessons have a maximum 7 in a group, intensive tuition in a small group with only 4 to 7 in groups leaving free time to ski with friends.  All Levels from complete beginner to advanced. New mini 2 day course available for advanced skiers with a maximum of 5 participants, where good skiers can target their weak spots.  Just the thing to  get off that plateau and really make the most of the mountain.

Lessons run 2 hours per day:

09h15 to 11h15 with a day off on Thursday and a longer 4 hour session on Friday

Or 11h30 to 13h30 with 4 hour session on Thursday and a day off on Friday

Special beginners booster session are available, with an extra afternoon lesson on the Monday afternoon for beginners and level 1 to build confidence and keep people away from the danger of going off with well intentioned “expert friends”.

Snowboard Group Lesson Prices and Times

Intensive tuition of super mini groups of 2-5 boarders with video feedback to really help improve your technique.  All levels are catered for from complete beginners to advanced.  The lessons run 2 hours  a day with a day off to rest or explore further a field, accept beginners who will benefit from the extra day. 

The groups run mid morning and afternoon when the snow is softer, therefore easier for those inevitable tumbles, making it safer.  We always recommend wearing helmets and body armour. 

Children  to  Kids Fun Factory Groups – Ages 6 to 17 years

(Min 4 – Max 8 in a group)

Children’s group lessons are called “Fun Factory” and are based on exactly that principle - teaching while having a lot of fun.  The groups are split into different age groups : 6 to 9 years, 10 to 13 years and 14 to 17 years. 

The sessions have varied times to allow a lot of tuition for the kids but still some time for the families to ski together.  On the full days, the kids have lunch with the instructor in a mountain restaurant, lunch is included in the price of the lessons.  On the final day there is a mountain treasure hunt for the younger children and multi fun Olympics for the older children, including a 30m timed run, special free style, and to top it of a ski jump on to our big bouncy air bag.  Medals are included in the price of lessons.

Please note: We really want to offer Kids Fun Factory all season song, however due to weeks out of school holidays being a quieter, we run on a basis of a minimum of 4 in a group, if there are not enough children to run a group we will change it to the times and prices of the Little Ones with the possibility of the 4 hours on the Thursday or Friday.

Children – Little Ones – 4 and 5 year olds

For 4 to 5 year olds from beginners (mouse) to Level 2 (bronze).  These Little Ones groups are run with a Maximum of 5 and a minimum of 3 children. Whether it's their first time on skis or they are snowploughing demons, this class will work on the basics in a fun and safe environment.  Because it can be very cold first thing in the morning, we also offer the later lesson when the snow is a bit softer, making learning easier.  Please don't forget their helmets, sun cream, sunglasses & warm clothes!

PRIVATE LESSONS

Magic Ski Academy Instructors

All disciplines, all levels all ages!  It is best to know a the level of the client and where possible a little about them, such as expectation, age etc. Off piste and speed riding must be specified so we can allocate one of our specialist instructors.

Magic match:  book a 3 hour  private lesson and we will try and find 1 or 2 other people of the same level to do the same and share with you, that way you get 2 or 3  lessons for the price of one!

SKI GUIDING

Provided by qualified guides of Magic Snowsports Academy, ski guiding is for advanced skiers and boarders who would like to visit some of the hidden wonders of the Three Valleys with others of a similar level; it is guiding, not instruction and is an opportunity to see places you could only get to with the help of the professionals.  Participants must be able to keep up with the level shown for each group and the sessions are subject to weather and conditions permitting.

Guiding groups run Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A minimum of 4 people are required to be able to run the guiding groups. Maximum of 8 people.
